What to Expect (and NOT to Expect)
Most of the villas will NOT be stocked with typical basics. You will need to purchase (or bring) your own soap, toilet paper, paper towels and other paper products.
Self-catering means that you will have access to your own kitchen, but you will need to stock the kitchen with food products (cooking utensils are usually included).
Few European rentals will include linens. It may be possible to rent linens as an optional service with your villa.
Hot water and utilities are more expensive in Europe than in the United States and are often NOT included in the base rental costs.
All phone calls (including local residential calls) will be metered and will likely cost additional fees.
Be sure that you review your rental agreement thoroughly before you sign any papers. Understand exactly what is covered in the rental agreement and ask about anything that is not explicitly stated in that agreement. If there is any doubt expect to pay additional fees for the service or item.
